copying and pasting footnotes

I'd like to make a request to be able to copy all footnotes (or a selection of them) out of a Mellel document, in the same way as can be done in MS Word. Currently (unless I am missing a workaround) clicking in a footnote and then command+A results in highlighting just the singular footnote.

Not only in MS Word, also in Nisus Writer Pro.

In Mellel, you can select the whole document, copy and then paste as plain text into a new empty document. The footnotes should all be at the end of the document, but you will lose the formatting.
