I’ve been using Mellel for a while now and really appreciate its efficiency . I do have a few feature requests that I think could enhance usability and customization while staying true to Mellel’s simplicity:
- 1. Pinch to Zoom Support:
The ability to zoom in and out using the trackpad (like in many Mac-native apps). It’s intuitive and improves navigation in documents.
2. Pinning the Palette to the Side:
An option to dock the palette on the side of the screen, keeping it fixed for easier access without overlapping the document.
3. Quick Access to Palette Subsections in the Toolbar:
It would be great to have direct access to palette subsections (e.g., Character, Paragraph) from the toolbar. Clicking on one could open a popup menu for quick adjustments. (I’ve attached a picture to illustrate the idea.)
4. Thumbnail View in the Sidebar:
Adding a thumbnail view of the pages to the sidebar, like in many other apps, could make navigating longer documents much faster. (Example image attached.)
5. Built-in Option to Crop Inserted Images:
A simple cropping tool for images pasted or inserted into documents, similar to Word, would make working with visuals much easier.
6. Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts:
A built-in option to customize existing keyboard shortcuts, so users can adapt them to their personal workflows.

Thanks for considering, and I hope some of these suggestions resonate!
