Tables

Post by raymond »

Hello,

Is there a way to copy a table from Excel on Mac into Mellel.

I have tried and did this:
I have selected the table on excel: 5 rows and 6 columns.
Then, I have copied the selected content.

I have opened mellel, and opened a similar table. Selected it, and then Paste the copied content.

The results were less than partial.

I am looking the way to do it.

TIA

Hm, I what I do in this case is that I copy the table from Excel and paste it into Nisus Writer Express. Then I open the Nisus file (rtf) from within Mellel and after that I can copy and paste the table to whatever Mellel document I want. A bit awkward, but it works. :-)

I could do it also from Excel with
- "Save as..."/ Text (tab delimited)
- open it in Mellel,
- select
- "Edit/convert Text to Table".

(it avoids using Nissus).

Is there any chance that a feature enabling direct copy pasting a table from excel into Mellel will be included in Mellel any time soon? I have also been using the workaround of pasting into Word, and then copying that table and pasting into Mellel but that is akward, especially when you have to work with a many tables.
