Hi Mellel,
I am in the 1st year of 6 years completing a part-time Ph.D. I love the outline feature for creating my outline for my upcoming project.
My one request has to do with word count.
Is there a way of creating a feature that gives you an updated word count for each section within a document?
1.0 Introduction - (1000 words - this would include all the word from 1.0-1.9)
1.1 An Overview of the study - (250 words - this would include only words under 1.1.1-1.1.10)
This feature would make Mellel perfect for academic writing. I think Scrivener does this but I find the program too big and clunky.
Thanks
Kurt

I quite like this idea too. As you may already know, it's possible to do this manually by selecting the text in each section and bringing up the Statistics palette, where the word count for the selected text is shown in parentheses after the word count for the whole document.

Yes, indeed. Do you happen to know if it possible to automatically set the word count to exclude the bibliography? I think a feature like this would be invaluable, as for my doctoral assignments the bibliography is not included in the word-count limitations.
