Re: OpenType help
DavidH, Not sure if there was anything special I am supposed to do in Typinator. I did a simple paste from Adobe, then copied it the text in Typinator and pasted in Mellel. In Mellel, the glyphs reverted to their base form. But then, Typinator was not using the font I had in Adobe (which is the one ...

Re: OpenType help
I misspoke (mistyped, rather). I actually was looking in Font Variation, not in Related Characters. My first sentence should have read, "The glyph variation for this particular font does not appear in 'Font Variation,' only the base glyph does."

Re: Why do people ask questions and then never bother to read the answer(s)?
Icelander, I think the "Last active" time stamp indicates the time someone contributes something (a post or reply) and does NOT indicate when someone last logged on or read others' posts or replies. I saw DavidH's reply to my image question shortly after he posted it. I suppose I could hav...

Re: OpenType help
DavidH, (1) The glyph variation for this particular font does not appear in “Related Characters,” only the base glyph does. I tried double-clicking a two-story A from another font, and only a single-story A for my font was placed in Mellel. I tried dragging-dropping a two-story A from a different fo...

Re: OpenType help
DavidH, I just read your replies, both logged-out and logged-in, on Sep 12. Then I closed the window, reopened it and it shows my last active date is from two days ago: Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:03 pm. This is the time stamp of my last reply. Apparently, it records the last time I contributed something to ...

Re: OpenType help
Actually, I vanished immediately after posting. I did check later that day and the next, but I did not wait around as I did not expect an instant reply. Janet's reply does not address the specific problem about which I am asking. DavidH does address my question, but as Icelander pointed out, I am no...

Change default settings for Image properties
When I drag-n-drop an image into a document, it is by default "floating" and the box is checked for "Image causes wrap." Is it possible to make it so that every image is by default "inline" and the box is unchecked for "Image causes wrap"?

OpenType help
Using Andika font in Mellel. https://software.sil.org/andika/download/ This font offers alternate forms of lower case "A" and lower case "G." I have learned how to access these alternate forms in Adobe products, but I have not figured out how to do so in Mellel (though I see that...

Re: What's the upgrade policy to 4.0?
For many years, I regarded Mellel highly and promoted it to many others. I have no doubt they received new business because of my word. But I have lost that enthusiasm. I wrote the company a few times about the upgrade situation to express my dissatisfaction with their apparent disingenuity over the...

Re: What's the upgrade policy to 4.0?
To be clear, though, this is not just a case of unfortunate wording. Mellel did in fact change the policy towards upgrades, right? For example, I received this message from RedleX in January 2011: An important note to all Mellel users (and those who wish to be): Mellel 2.8 has moved to a free update...

Updates for Mellel 3
I am not ready to pay money for Mellel 4, and I want to wait a few weeks or so to give time for bugs to get ironed out. I have two computers. One is updated to Mellel 3.5.5 and the other has Mellel 3.3.8. Is there a way I can update my second computer to Mellel 3.5.5? When I go to "Check for Up...

Re: English punctuation in a RTL context
I thank you, but my question is not "Does it looks strange?" or "What is the right way to do it?" but rather, is it possible to format it in the way I am asking without using tables or placing question marks before (instead of after) the English? If anyone can assist with the lat...

Re: English punctuation in a RTL context
Thank you for your reply. The reason for placing the question mark at the right end of the English is to show uncertainty about the English gloss. The entire line is not a question, only that particular English gloss. Does that make better sense? If I type the whole thing Left-to-Right, it would app...
