Re: Making the bibliography window in the palette useful
I frequently cite multiple publications by the same author in the same year. Either there should be more information than author-last-name + year, or the year should be omitted in favor of the first two words of the title. As it is, I simply never use that pane, and that is a real pity. Excellent s...

Text size in comments
Hi, everyone,
Is there a way to change the size of the text in comments, either by means of a style or a default setting; or, failing that, by calling up manual font controls?
Thanks,
Rick

Re: What's next for Mellel 3.4?
In order of priority for my use: 1. What I most need is improved handling of sections in a manner that would facilitate both side-by-side translations and/or commentary -- non-symmetric sections [manual control over where the section divider falls] -- independent column flows [right-hand column on ...

Re: Some promising features in Word 2016
I don't have any direct response to your request/comment, but thank you for all the great links. I had never heard of most of those sites. First, let me say that I am not a fan of MS Office and use Mellel as my main word processor for sole-authored work. But a good deal of my work involves collabora...

Re: selecting non-contiguous text
After all, nobody would doubt the validity of concentrating on niche-markets as a business-model in food production anymore, so why would not the same go for application development? I couldn't agree more. The idea of appealing to a broad market usually means producing something that isn't really s...

Paragraph numbering
I want to pass round a fairly long manuscript to my co-authors, for which the biggest issue arising from our anonymous reviewer's comments is overall structure. In addition to all the structural info from auto-titles and cross-references, I'd like to make it possible to refer to individual paragraph...

So for me the list in the palette is completely useless. I only use the buttons on the right. When I look for a reference, I jump to bookends ad search and navigate there. If the list in the palette should be any good to users, it would be necessary to enlarge it (e. g. with a toggle button for sma...

Another suggestion
Another wish item for the Bib palette: Easy as it is to switch to Bookends to insert a reference, if I'm going to be inserting 4 or 5 references in a single sentence, the switching can get tedious, and break my flow of thinking. I'd love to be able to put some references into the palette in Mellel, ...

Re: Mellel vs. MS Word--major advantages of Mellel
I've yet to find anyplace on the website or in the forums that will tell me what the major advantages of switching from MSWord to Mellel are. I'm a professor who must compose documents mixing Chinese and various Western languages and be able to send them without hitch to numerous Windows, and MSWor...

Edit to add: Oddly enough, I am setting my thesis in Warnock Pro too, partly because it seems to be a very readable body text face, on screen and in print; also because of its OpenType features. That means I get to use small caps for sub-section headers and it also gives me proper sub- and superscr...

I suggest then, that from now on, this thread be used to discuss how we can address Ori's request that we practically implement this round table. I truly believe that this is an excellent opportunity given to us by Redlers and we should not squander it. I also agree. It would be nice to hear what O...

RTF and Mellel
Sorry this isn't an answer, but a followup. I often use RTF, too. Recently, I've been co-authoring a paper using Writely, and used Mellel to open the RTF file exported from Writely. The text was in there, but hidden amongst countless pages of code. By contrast, both Word and TextEdit handled the RTF...
