Re: A call for tables

You can def. use footnotes within the tables. That was a game-changer for my doctoral thesis. And my copy-editor, being used to MS Word but graciously willing to install and work with Mellel on my manuscript, was jolly well astonished when I told her I didn't need to use table-notes made manually!

Re: A call for tables

As for your question regarding the diagrams, both a) and b) would be useful, but I had specifically the option b) in mind when making this proposal.

Re: A call for tables

hey Eyal, thanks so much for keeping this discussion going. My (literally) two (metaphorical) cents: Inserting the rows: I'd like to be able to say 'insert row above' or 'below' or 'column before' or 'after'. The difference is the following: I'm in row 1 and want to insert a row above. Excel gives y...

Re: A call for tables

1. Ability to work with something akin to 'table styles', whereby I could save the table designs I might need more often (which I often do). I'd love to have had this when working on my monograph which utilised lots of tables which required the same design and layout throughout. I resorted to resolv...

inserting images?

Hey folks, For some reason, I'm having a hard time inserting the images into my Mellel document. What I mean is that I need to insert an image and retain its size, as it's a manuscript image and hence it needs to appear in a real-life size. But Mellel always inserts it smaller. Any help will be grea...

Re: Selecting all footnotes

I second this request for select all footnotes/endnotes, but for a different reason: I'd like to copy all my footnotes/endnotes. Is this possible? Is there a work around? Thanks! As far as I know, there isn't at the moment (I've asked Eyal before) and I, too, second this request. This is most desir...

feature request: select all footnotes

Hey there,

Am I right in saying that Mellel has presently got no way of selecting all footnotes (something akin to Command-A type of thing)?

If so, it'd definitely be a welcome addition to the kit. Also, how far on the horizon are the table styles?

a combination of indent and outdent?

Hey y'all, I don't really know how this is called properly called in typographic terms, hence the ambiguous title. Anyway, what I'm looking for may be descirbed as follows: I’d like to have\ list-like indented blocks of text that are preceded by a number/word/group of characters of choice that would...

Re: Feature request: TAB key in lists?

As for autotitles, I do love the function, but I'm disappointed that one can't just swap autotitle levels (in terms of formatting, etc.). It would make things a whole lot easier when adding new levels and when changing the structure of a larger document (such as an academic monograph).

Feature request: TAB key in lists?

Hey folks,

I think it'd be rather useful if one could a TAB key to decrease a level in a list and an ENTER key to increase, rather than clicking an arrow in the "List" palette. What say you? (Btw, haven't heard from the Redlers in a while, are you guys busy writing an iPad version? :P)

Feature request: swapping of levels in autotitles

Hey there, I think it'd be a good idea if, in the setup of autotitles, one could swap various level within the flow. This would be practicable especially in the longer document with complex title system. So, for instance, I've already written a fairly long document where I'd like to push the style (...

Re: Feature request: table styles

Yes, table styles are a huge desideratum. My thesis document already contains some 60 tables (and increasing), and every table is a pain to customise. Moreover, as noted numerous times, autotitles don't function within tables—which greatly limits their usefulness.

Re: Feature request: More customisation for Tables!

For instance, "space above" paragraph function doesn't work (at least in the top row). And yes, table styles as such are most desirable.
