Mellel developers... you out there?
It's been a little while since we've heard from the folks at Mellel. How are things going? Any big plans in store for the future of Mellel?

Re: Dictionary and Spelling
For Mellel's spell check to work properly, you have to set a language. Change it in the Character/Styles section of the Palette.
As for teaching it new words, you just right click on the word and select 'Learn spelling'.

Re: Mellel and Yosemite (Public Beta)
Thanks for testing. Glad to hear everything's working fine with 10.10. I'll be an early adopter when it is officially released.

Re: What's next for Mellel 3.4?
I know bug fixes are still trickling out for 3.3, but is 3.4 anywhere near a release?

Re: No palettes in full screen?
I just tested this and was still having the same issue until I reset the palettes. Now it works. I closed and opened Mellel, and it still works.
So maybe try resetting palettes?

Re: Scrivener Export to Mellel
I like this option.A 'Select all text in this style' function, like Nisus and Pages have. Then the procedure would be: put the insertion point in one heading, click 'Select all like this', then impose a paragraph style.

Re: Organising cross references
I've actually brought this up before. +1 for the drag and drop. Of course, Mellel should remember the format for the cross-reference after it has been set as well. Another option would be to have a little button beside each entry in the outline. Then you wouldn't have to even drag. Just click the bu...

Re: Auto-Title Levels + Defining selective styles
As far as I know, there is no way to remove the extra levels; however, the extra ones don't really affect anything. Though I do agree that Auto-title levels should be fully customizable. I ran into issues with title levels while formatting my dissertation. You should be able to structure your docume...

Re: changing footnote alignment
I'm not really sure what's going on. How many of the footnotes are not formatted correctly? Can you just place your cursor somewhere within the text of the footnotes and apply the note text style? (Just go to the Paragraph section of the Palette, Choose the Styles tab, and double click Note text (wh...

Re: changing footnote alignment
Go to Edit --> Style Sets. In the Paragraph list, there should be a entry called Note text. Edit this entry. You should see this Justification buttons towards the bottom of this pane. That should get you fixed up.

Re: Mellel 3.3 Starting-Up delay
In Mellel, go to Help -> Privacy The option to turn this feature off is there. It is probably a good idea for Mellel to display a dialog box before any data is sent that prompts the user to opt in or out. More information regarding the what information is sent and for what is in the privacy window.

What's next for Mellel 3.4?
So with 3.3 we have comments, improved find/find sets, improved Auto-titles and ToC, and some bug fixes. What features are on the top of the list for implementation in Mellel 3.4? Anchoring captions to figures and tables seems be the most useful feature for the broadest user base. Adding a caption t...

Re: Special Characters that no longer work
If you search for those characters in the 'special characters' application in Mac OS and scroll through the various font variations, Times is not in the list (though Times New Roman is). I don't think there's a problem with Mellel or your with Mac OS; it's just that those characters are simply not p...
