Re: Mellel and OmniOutliner, best practice?
I fear that I don’t have that much to contribute here, other than that I also use this setup. I usually just keep them open side by side and switch back and forth. (I use OO for organization and related notes and ideas. The actual writing is then done pretty much exclusively in Mellel.) But I too wo...

Re: Mellel, .docx and publishing houses
I did so for a three hundred pages long book with about 150 illustrations (but no tables), lots of footnotes etc. (And for many articles and book chapters for anthologies.) Went fine, and I always kept the Mellel version as my main version (to update mistakes, produce PDFs to send out to colleagues ...

Re: Many quotes and blank pages
Sounds like some kind of "keep with next" option is enabled in the paragraph style that you use for block quotes?

Re: empty mention bug still not fixed?
This is not fixed. Also, this is not really bug but rather (possibly misguided) feature. We will discuss this for changing in 3.3 The main worry here is that if you don't see anything, then you can't select or see it when you're editing the header/footer. I understand – using some kind of "inv...

Re: What is the best font.
However, none of these fonts is available as native on an iPad, so if you're looking to produce an ebook (for example for iBooks) then you'd need to use one of the default fonts.

empty mention bug still not fixed?
Is the empty mention bug really not fixed yet? The issue appears if you have a mention set up in your header, but there is no content for the mention to refer to. The mention then displays <#???#> instead of nothing or hidden text. This scenario is quite common if you have for example a mention on t...

Where can I set default document variables?
Where can I set default document variables? In earlier versions that was possible in Mellel’s preferences, and the user guide still talks about preferences as being the place where the default can be set. But if I look at the Document Setup preference pane, I can only change the title of document va...

Re: column display in compact view
In a file I was working on today, there is a section with two columns. When I view that section in Mellel view, everything looks fine. When I switch to compact view, that section no longer displays properly. The header and footer text and the leftmost ten characters of 11pt Times in the left column...

I also want to support this feature request - shouldn’t be that hard to implement but can make work with citations much easier in Mellel.
