Re: The state of the Mellel (a road map of sorts)

* Track changes and comments: this feature is already running (in an Alpha). It was written to play nicely with track-changes features with other word processors (we also intend to add, though I'm not sure if it will be with this release) the ability to export and import track changes, so you will ...

Re: iPad Version

I'm about a thousand times more interested in track changes than in an iPad version, although that's no doubt because I don't have an iPad. On a slightly more serious note, Mellel excels at long documents; although I'm sure someone will try writing a book on the iPad, it seems like most people would...

Re: Feature request: show two pages on one screen

Check out the "zoom" menu on the Mellel toolbar. At the bottom you can choose one-up, two-up, two-page spreads or even four-up. DRM AND it works in full screen mode. Beautiful! Thanks so much for the pointer. This is exactly what I want. Note to the Redlers. The original post in this thre...

Feature request: show two pages on one screen

I love the Mellel full screen view. But there's one other view that I think is missing: side-by-side pages, as Word shows in this screenshot: No matter how I scale Mellel, it appears to remain on one screen, whether in Mellel view, co...

Re: Track Changes - A Word-specific Poll

"Track changes as such is not a very important addendum to Mellel" I disagree: for me, track changes or something like it is the feature that prevents me from using Mellel more widely. The inclusion of track changes in the next version would be a proverbial godsend that would allow me to a...

Re: Track Changes, what would you like to have?

For me, a Word/Pages-style track changes feature would be enough: everything else would just be gravy. Perfect Word compatibility would be a delight, but that's the extra 20%, not the 80%.

Re: Track Changes, what will you do?

Track changes is considered an essential feature of a word processor by many. But it is not. It is fashionable, but not essential. For me, it is essential, and becoming moreso all the time. I said in another post that, if Mellel had track changes, I would a) use it much more often and b) get the tw...

Re: Mellel 2.7 around the corner...

On the subject of "track changes", I don't really follow. There's one good thing about it, as far as I see it, and that's collaborative editing. But that would require everyone has Mellel (editing in anything other than Mellel or LaTeX is prone to cause endless frustration...), and that's...

Re: Mellel 2.7 around the corner...

Track changes is also an essential feature for me: although I write some longer documents in Mellel because of its stability, not having track changes is a major problem as soon as I need editing.
