Re: Why so heavy ver.5.0.6?

Thank you for reporting, Wakamatsu. I'm glad to know the troubles with 5.0.6 are behind you now. (For the moment, I feel so happy with 5.0.5 that I have yet to upgrade, but it's good to know there's no trouble in sight.)

Re: End of Chapter notes and bibliography

I fully support this request. I lived blissfully in Mellel while writing a book that came out n 2008. However, when the time for formatting that MS according to editor specifications came, the lack of end-of-chapter notes in Mellel entailed exporting a carefully crafted MS into another word processo...

Re: Any way to automate autotitle creation?

Hello Francisco, I’ve written AppleScripts to speed up many repetitive tasks in my other programs, so it may be that the slowness of creating autotitles is a bit more noticeable to me than it is to some other users. I’ve used Mellel since 2003, so I get around in it pretty well, but this is a frequ...

Re: Any way to automate autotitle creation?

Hi,

Have you tried using the Auto-title palette? From the palette, it's simply a matter of double clicking auto-titles on a list in order to insert them.

Re: iPad and Mac sync

Hello, I did not buy Mellel for Mac on the MAS, and yet the synchronization with Mellel on the iPad is faultless. Yes, when you create a new document on the iPad it appears (instantly) on iCloud. I'm not clear whether Mellel for iPad created its own folder on iCloud or whether I did it myself. Anywa...

Re: Back in Mellel: Questions on endnotes and on exporting s

Thanks Bulow, thanks Robert, After having been onto Mellel and written a book with it, having gone elsewhere in frustration, and having just now returned for an assessment after almost a decade, my impressions are: 1.The community in this forum seems to me much less vibrant than it was a few years a...

Re: Back in Mellel: Questions on endnotes and on exporting s

Hi folks, Sorry for insisting, just want to understand the situation. As far as I can see, the thread asking for end-of-section notes petered out a while back. And I notice that Robert Cameron has posted pleas for the developers to implement the full potential of the RTF protocol in order to increas...

Back in Mellel: Questions on endnotes and on exporting style

Hello, I ceased working with Mellel some years ago. Now I'm back for a spin with a short project. I love living in Mellel, would never leave if I could. A number of things improved since I left, and that's all for the best. But a couple of fairly basic things are still missing and feel like party sp...

Re: bibliography placement

How soon is "soon"? Needless to say that this is an important feature when you are preparing a paper with endnotes and a bibliography, right? Mellel is stellar in so many aspects, why does it have to be so frustrating on some basic random functions it does not fulfill, such as this one? PL...

Re: Wishlist 2008

2.5 I beg your pardon? Yes, April Fool's day is a fun date. Ah, but who would believe these days that 2.5 will be out before we all have turned into very old people brooding upon how successful our distant academic careers might have been if only we had had that very complete and miraculous word-pr...

Re: Wishlist 2008

As already pointed out, index capability, and Quicklook literacy. Besides (I wonder how on earth Mellel came this far without this rather basic feature, which is long overdue) end-of-chapter endnotes.

D. We got over those...Ori Super! Thanks for taking the time to respond and sorry for my previous blunt post. Re: And Now A Word From Our Sponsors......(please!)

Ditto. It is becoming clear that users are worried. There are two things here. One is the huge delay in delivering; the other is the deafening silence about it. I suppose the latter, at least, should be fixed asap — we're not asking for promises or for classified data, just for some basic, trivial i...

Martºn, many thanks for your, again, very useful and ingenious workaround. If the note-alignment problem turns out to be the only thing Mellel can't do when the time comes for me to enter the formatting stage, then I think your solution is well worth trying! I still have to solve a couple questions ...
