Re: Footnotes in the right margin?
Hello Beck, Congratulations! You are the first member who has managed to send a screenshot in this forum! At least yours is the only one I have ever seen. It used to be generally accepted that it was not possible. I asked a question regarding screenshots two years ago after having tried unsuccessful...

Re: Using/Printing comments
Hi Janet, This is interesting and thanks for drawing my attention to this. I see now that you are right. Using Nisus as my daily word processor, I assumed Track Changes and Comments would be displayed in two different panes (or columns), but Mellel seems to follow Word here, which also has Track Cha...

Re: Using/Printing comments
OK, I found it: you turn off comments by deactivating Track Changes Just to clarify and prevent misunderstanding: In Mellel lingo "Track Changes" are not the same as "Comments." Comments are the yellow annotations which reside in the Annotations Pane. You are talking about "...

Re: Double-spacing between footnotes
I agree. Although points allow maximal flexibility in setting the paragraph spacing, it makes sense to have additionally "Lines" as an option in the 'Note text style' pane.it would be nice to get more precision on this
Should we contact Redler with this as a feature request?

Re: Double-spacing between footnotes
If I had entered more text in the footnotes I would have realized that you're right. Sorry about that. Actually, I think this is lastly just an academic question because it's pretty easy, I think, to guess how many points corresponds to one line, based on how the text and the footnotes appear on scr...

Re: Double-spacing between footnotes
Hi Joseph, My problem is that I'm not sure how to compare the units in which the spacing for the body of the text is specified You can use the same unit for both. For the footnotes you choose "Note text style" having Line spacing: Lines and Amount 2. Look at the screenshots here: http://ww...

What do you mean by "inserts"? It would be nice if you could describe your method in more detail.
What do you enter into the fields Points, Characters, Locations, Date & Time, Remarks?

Re: From Latex to Mellel: need some help
Hello AcquaDom, It took me quite a while to do this in Mellel. In Nisus Writer Pro it took me exactly 10 seconds to set this up, and I'm not exaggerating. In Mellel, look for the "Default numbered" Auto-title set up. You can use that as a kind of template. I think "Default numbered&q...

Re: Extra line of spaces inserted in Bibliography
If you are getting empty lines after a reference in the bibliography, I would first check the Format Manager in Bookends. Does an empty line always follow a certain Reference Type (Book, Edited Book, Journal article, etc.) or does this happen randomly? An empty line could represent an empty field in...

Re: Searching for words typed in superscript?
Are you saying, you have the citations in footnotes? What words become superscripted? Are these words a part of a citation? Check your citation definition in Bookends Format Manager. Do you see any "^" (without the quotes) there? ^ at the beginning and the end of a field causes the field c...

Re: Bookends: Exclude authors and title parameter
Using &, as described in Bookends User Guide v13.2, p. 255, does not work in Mellel 4. Instead you can use hypen or dash to suppress the author and title. If your citations are in the MLA style (Author Year), i.e. with no title , you can also use % instead of &. By the way, if I understand y...
