Re: The new Nisus Pro contains
I just had a look at Nisus Pro 2. It does indeed look *very* nice. The track changes and comments features seem to be especially well done. I'm also very curious to try out its various levels of compatibility with .docx and .odt. I still feel that Mellel's method of handling styles and auto titles i...

Re: Selecting all instances of a style...
That is how I do it. I have two style sets, one for draft, and one for final, with both having styles of the same name. Updating them is simply a matter of selecting a new style set. I think what you want, however, is the "Replace Styles..." dialogue in the File menu. That will allow you t...

Re: Feature request: (La)TeX export
I would think that this would be a crazy feature to implement correctly. (La)TeX is more programming language than word processor, so to get all the macro definitions, style sheets, references, and other complex features available in TeX it would take a while, and for very little gain. People who us...
Re: File size
If you're saving in the single-file Mellel format, it uses zip compression to package the file up. You could be seeing the effects of compression on reducing the total file size. To see the original files in the package, rename the file to have a .zip extension and then unzip it. As for the bloated ...

Re: LaTeX equations in Mellel
Well, I'm glad they found some resolution. I suspect LaTeX is what they should have been using from the start. Personally, I find the trouble of having to align the occasional equation or image to vastly outweigh the need to sift through large amounts of poorly written documentation just to find out...

Re: LaTeX equations in Mellel
As far as I understand, LaTeXIt creates an image, which you then insert into Mellel. Mellel doesn't support LaTeX-style ASCII-to-typeset page process. So any equation you get out of LaTeXIt will be an image, and will act like an image in Mellel. You can try playing around with the Placement and wrap...

Re: Probable bugs with track changes
You should definitely send the Redlers a support request with this information:
http://www.redlers.com/support.html
They read the forums, but always ask that bugs and other bad behaviours be sent to them directly.

App Store
I just noticed that Mellel is now available in the App Store! Congratulations, Redlers!

Re: Feature Request: line numbers
One suggestion might be to start a third forum *just* for feature requests. One thread per request. The problem with adding a "feature request" thread in an existing forum ("nitty and gritty") is that the actual feature requests get lost in the discussion of the feature requests ...

Re: New Mellel icon
Looks great, but I'd even ditch the "Mellel" on the paper in the typewriter -- the icon shape is distinct enough that it doesn't need to be explicitly labelled.

Re: Printing & track changes margin line
I would be in favour of an option in the print dialog that says "Print Revision Indicators" (or something a little clearer) similar to the "Print Markers" option there, and (preferably) off by default. Having a line that indicates there are hidden changes in the Mellel document o...

Just downloaded it and gave it a shot. Looks great, even in the "Apple Aqua" scheme.

Re: New website issues
Weird. Here's what it looks like to me: http://transientstudent.net/screenshot/mellel-screenshot.png This is Safari 5.0.3. I've tried reloading, resetting, etc. but it still looks wonky. Edit: I figured it out. I have my default font set to something other than Times, and a size other than 12. I see...

New website issues
The new website seems to have some very wonky layout issues with the "Download" and "Buy" buttons overlapping some of the text in the body, the text in the sidebar bleeding out of it, and the more, support, and about links opening new pages (which is quite annoying). I'm using th...
