Printing & track changes margin line
Hi, When showing the "final" version of a document with changes, a thin grey line appears in the left indicating that changes are there, but hidden. This line is also present when printing a copy of the page. I cannot seem to find a way to hide that line without turning off "track cha...

Re: Free updates for life?
I've continued to follow this thread, and also re-read some of the earlier responses. In my impression, the App Store is still an unknown quantity. I have it, have tried it, and have even bought a few things from it. Then I removed it from my dock, and only check on it from time to time when I'm pro...

Re: The track changes doesn't work
I would say it's a bug. You should contact the Mellel support folks: support@redlers.com, since they may not see it on here.

Re: Free updates for life?
Thanks for chiming in Eyal & Ori - that answers some of the questions that I had.
When can we expect to see Mellel on the App Store? Have you submitted it for 2.x, or will the first App Store version be 3?

Free updates for life?
While I'm generally a fan of things I don't have to pay for, I have to confess I'm a bit uneasy about the "Free upgrades for life" policy for Mellel. Why? Well, for something as important to me as the tools I use for writing, I like to know that I can support the folks developing it and th...

Re: Comparing two Mellel docs
I find git to be perfect for exactly this problem. Since it's a local version control system you don't need to set up a server system - just install git and then at the end of each day (or writing session) commit your changes. It will then let you see and roll back your commits.

Re: Feature request: Page style break after this page
The global "First Page/Subsequent Pages" option would be fairly limiting. If you wanted to keep many chapters in the same document, for example, you couldn't specify different page styles for more than the first page. The other option is to have a "Custom..." option in the "...

Re: Feature request: Page style break after this page
I think that the problem is ultimately just that a page style break inserts an implicit page and paragraph break at the point of insertion. If I understand correctly, Word solves this problem by having "Section Break (Continuous)." That's not very descriptive, but it shows it can be done t...

Janice,
It's not a text background, but you can very easily create "Draft" behind the pages in Mellel by setting an image of the text in the page style, and then adjusting the transparency.

Re: The state of the Mellel (a road map of sorts)
*bump* Any news on this front? I was excited to hear the pace of Mellel development was picking up again, but so far it's only be as many words. Although it's not as bad as *some* software I use (I'm looking at you, TextMate) there are some features in Ori's original post that I've been waiting for ...
