Re: Mellel 4.1 is ready for beta testing...

I am assuming that since I registered for the beta (via the link above) soon after it was announced here, and I have not heard any response, that I will not be beta testing. Was looking forward to it. I have been beta tester in the past 15 years.

I'm sorry when I included in address field the email automatically inserted Ori's email; didn't even think about it. I will resend to you.

Re: A clarification regarding Mellel 4.0.3 and "Diamond styles"

I just sent the document. It has a character style named "Helvetica Neue Regular 13" which I have never defined. On my desktop I downloaded the app again and reinstalled. I was able to get a template without it. But on the laptop that has not solved anything.

Thanks for your response, Eyal.

Re: A clarification regarding Mellel 4.0.3 and "Diamond styles"

What to do? First, if this doesn't bother you per se (that is, seeing these in the menu/palette) you can simply continue to enjoy life and Mellel as you did till now. If you want to eliminate these then you need to follow this procedure 1. Locate where the style is applied. 2. Select the text where...

Re: Switching to Greek and Hebrew

Thanks for responding. I had injured myself quite badly 5 months ago and had not used Mellel at all until recently, and I have just begun using it in earnest. I had no problem with fonts (Libertine included) with previous versions of Mellel, nor with switching languages. I am using the same function...

Switching to Greek and Hebrew

I have set up Body style using Libertine and the eight variations. However, the Base is English, the Greek (Doulos SIL font) and Hebrew (Ezra SIL font) do not switch to those fonts. I have set the language to Greek for F7 and Hebrew for F8. It shows on the screen when I hit those that it is correctl...

Re: Unable to delete styles

Thanks. Have tried it both ways. While I used File > Replace Styles, and assigned each paragraph with the correct style. The • marked styles are still in the palette. Unfortunately that does not resolve the template file either, which is cluttered with 10-15 styles marked this way (for character and...

Unable to delete styles

No matter what template I load, there are always styles associated with it that have the • in front of the name (see http://www.mediafire.com/file/p7nqs7ad9tdtqda/Mellel_Styles.png). Yet, when I try to edit the template, and select one of those styles, the delete button is grayed out, meaning I can'...

Re: Small caps for LORD

Are you required to have Palatino? I have found that some of the font sets don't have complete set of glyphs. I have found Libertine much better and larger set of glyphs: http://www.linuxlibertine.org/index.php?id=1&L=1 Regarding small caps and all caps, once you get to the printing stage, there...

Re: Mellel cannot find a font available in another program.

I,too, lost Century Schoolbook sometime back.

I decided to use Libertine (both serif and sans serif typefaces), more complete, and beautiful, usable font.

Glad to know. For the benefit of other Mellel users, can you go through steps to solve it?

Good for you, Michael. Thanks for reporting back. It might be helpful for others to know where you found the answer, and how you did it.

Just a suggestion.

Re: Copy and paste between different paragraph styles

If you paste with CMD + OPT + SHIFT + v, then it will be pasted in with the font/style of the surrounding text.

Re: Small Caps and Italic/Bold

Yes, it has those, and they work fine in other programs. However, the only work around is that I set up another Character style, with options for Bold Small Caps, Italic Small Caps, and Bold Italic Small Caps. I also had to make sure that the small caps comes into play; that is, there are two places...
