Yellow Comments

Dear Mellel, small requests on these very useful yellow side notes (Comments): 1) if you select a note by clicking on it, would it be possible to increase clearly the width the very thin yellow line linking the comment with its reference in the text? When you have a lot of comments on a single page,...

Re: search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

The Sogdian Traders was written with MS Word, but the next one "Samarcande et Samarra" was written in Mellel. It allowed me to incorporate without problem Arabic, Chinese, but also (the only book in the world!) Sogdian in a font I have created, by hacking the Arabic unicode range: Mellel t...

Re: search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

Thanks a lot I will give it a try!

but more generally, I do think that the ability to create stylistically complex find/replace directly in a single action would be useful

Re: Date and Time Stamps

Dear Icelander let's say this dynamic stamp is on the first cover page of your work, then, when you print an intermediate version of your work, you would have automatically the date of this version, while in the current system you have only the dynamic date of the last opening of this version, somet...

Re: search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

I am coming back to this old request of mine. In "Find/Replace" we can only choose a style for a whole word or sequence of words. It is impossible to apply a specific style to each letter. But it would be very useful. As a historian I have always to deal with (in French) ive, ve, vie, viie...

Date and Time Stamps

Dear Mellel currently, Date and Time Stamps offer 3 possibilities, one dynamic (last opening) and 2 statics (creation and current day). Would it be possible to add a 4th one, a dynamic one : "last save". With your "last opening," in a way you are supposing that we are closing our...

Re: Comments on comments

Dear all No comment in 6 months on that? I am quite sure that I am not the only one with this problem. May be I wrongly retranslated from French: I meant the yellow annotations. When printed, they are on the very far-left side of the page, so that their left side is outside of the printed zone and i...

Comments on comments

Dear all Two comments on comments in 4.0 -when printing a text with (yellow) comments, the comments will be aligned on the left margin of the (A4) page. The problem is that printers always have a small non-printable margin. So that when printing the text, the left part of the commentaries falls into...

Re: INDEX

I have an email from Ori, dated April 30 2006, promising indexing for 2006. For me also, Mellel will be something of the past soon without indexing. It would be a pity : I have written and published 3 books with Mellel.

search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

Hello is there any convenient way to make a search and replace of abbreviated ordinals, for instance 2nd, by 2nd with the final nd in upperscript, that is the correct typography of such an ordinal? What I can see right now is to search for all "2nd", change "2nd" to upperscript, ...
