Re: Mellel 2.7 around the corner...

Apart from professional pride (which is important too!) smooth movement means accurate and smooth positioning of images. You've certainly earned yours, and deserve it. I guess for new users Mellel can be a bit of a challenge, but once you're used to it, its flexibility and level of detail is compel...

Re: Mellel 2.6 and Sente 5.7.2

Has this been fixed? My Sente 5.7.5 doesn't play nicely with Mellel 2.6.1 I cannot "verify" bibliography citations (I guess that works only with Bookends?), and I can't scan documents FROM WITHIN Sente: Sente doesn't recognize Mellel documents that are open, and when I choose them to scan...

Thanks, although since Jan 2 2009 I'm no longer moving between different locations. Any experience with Marco Polo?

Re: Default printer not remembered?

I found this to be working as well, but the problem is that I use multiple different default printers in different buildings - hence I have set the default printer in system preferences to be the 'last used' (also, if the 'last used' printer is offline, the next on the list will be chosen - which i...

Re: Default printer not remembered?

For testing's sake I added a few printers and indeed: Mellel remembers the first one in the list and takes that to be default (even when it's not, in System Prefs). I've found that changing the name of the printer (not its address) in the Sys Prefs allows you to move your real default printer topmos...

Re: All Mellel files simultaneously reduced to Zero KB

Eyal, thanks for noting the backup directory. The files in there were just fine. I think it's worth noting that they are not on my iDisk and so I observe that all iDisk-based Mellel files were destroyed, but the ones in normal hard drive folders were fine. I might suggest for any others out there w...

Re: How do I set up Automator to compress my Mellel docs?

Dear rpcameron, Thanks again! I myself am trying to finish up my dissertation, so I may not be checking the forums for the next week or two . . . I posted this a while ago - dunno if it helps you out. See http://forum.redlers.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1599&p=9939&hilit=automator+zip#p9950

Re: Mellel into PDF

Hello, I have a Mellel file. In this file, of course, there exist the auto-titles. My question: Is there a way, when turning the file into PDF by the print dialog, to keep all the autotitles visible, on the left of the PDF file, in the created PDF file. TIA Raymond I'm afraid not, at this point. Me...

Re: "use surrounding" problem in cross-references styling

Hi Verma, What I want with my cross references is something like... "as shown in [Figure 4 above]" (where the cross-ref object is enclosed in [...]). The way I do that is by setting a custom display format for references in my auto-title setup for "figure". That auto-title set u...

Re: "use surrounding" problem in cross-references styling

Hmm. On my copy, I can change both the character style and variation for cross-references, after they've been inserted in the text (with the caveat that some elements of the cross-ref don't pick up the character style and other parts do, as I explained above). In any case, even if I set the charact...

Re: [Discussion] Indexing

Talking about Indexing: someone might want to take a look at iVerbum . It doesn't exactly offer the kind of Indexing Mellel will offer in the future, but as a research tool it might be useful to some of us. The latest version (3.2), which was released two days ago, can also read Mellel files. Looks...

Re: Sente in-text citation:How can I get "et al." italicized?

What I meant to say is that "et al." is not a bibliographic entry in Sente on a par with editors, author, title or you-name-it. The bibliographic entries in Sente can be defined as "italics, bold, underline or plain" and will appear as such in the bibliography in Mellel if you c...

Re: Making cross references hurt less

other point that will need to be addressed: clicking on the otuline pane is now automatically bringing you in the text to that position selected in the outline. Would have to change to if we"re having d&d CR entries. Actually, you can already click and drag inside the outline pane to rearr...
