That's right. I forgot to mention that. Thanks for chiming in.

Re: auto text
I haven't used the glossaries feature of Nisus, but perhaps this can be replicated in Typinator? Nisus has an auto-correct tool. It's called QuickFix . You can create one QuickFix list for each language (that you use.) Example: If you write "us" (without quotes) in German, this can be ex...

No space choice between characters, so useful for example for subtitles styles Are you referring to kerning here? Kerning has been announced for all fonts in the upcoming v4.1. Is the main quality of Mellel just for structuring a book and be confident with voluminous documents? I am not sure I am w...

Has the "Open Template" menu command been disabled?
There is one thing in Mellel that I haven't been able to figure out yet. I have created several templates, and I can access them by choosing New from the File menu. The menu command "Open Template", however, *always* remains empty. See a screenshot here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/hktje...

How to convert a hyphenation text file to a Mellel hyphenation dictionary?
I write in a language for which Mellel provides no hyphenation dictionary, so I wanted to download Mellel's Hyphenation Lab from Mellel's website https://www.mellel.com/downloadother/ but the link is dead, nothing happens when I click on it. The same, by the way, applies to the Font link. Both links...

Re: A clarification regarding Mellel 4.0.3 and "Diamond styles"
A long-time issue is that you can't search for text styled with a document character style. When you bring up the "find" dialog, the diamond styles are hidden in the character style palette. … and instead "any character style" is selected. I agree with ymeroz, this needs to be f...

Re: Anyone else using Bookends and care to comment?
Hello Joseph, I've been experiencing intermittent problems with the formatting instructions sent from Bookends […] where a book title should be italicized […] The strange thing is that if I create a new Mellel document and try to insert the same in-text citations in it from Bookends, it works flawle...

Re: Comments on comments
I fully agree with Etienne and Peter.
If you choose "Paper Handling" instead of "Mellel" in the print dialogue, there is a 'Scale to fit paper size' option there. Maybe that makes some difference. I haven't tested it myself though, because I'm about to abandon Mellel.

Images from Safari can't be pasted into Mellel
I can't paste text with pictures from Safari into Mellel. Other word processors, including TextEdit, can do this. When working in Mellel, l have to drag the pictures out of Safari or save them to the Desktop, then import them into Mellel. This is time consuming if there are many pictures. Has this a...
Re: auto text
Hi,
Mellel does not have glossaries.
If you need that feature, you would have to use a third party text expansion software, such as Typinator, but it's not as good as the glossaries in Nisus.
