Re: Keep lines together in footnotes does not work
Have you checked the paragraph style that you apply to your footnotes? It should not "keep lines together" and things like that…

Re: The state of the Mellel (a road map of sorts)
Hah! Reading this I also thought the Redlers might have accidentally dropped me from the program – BUT gmail wrongly classified the beta invitation as spam. (Didn’t have false positives for a while, so I kind of stopped checking regularly.)

And I would guess that many people would love a fix for this behavior…suavito wrote:1) To my knowledge there is no key code to move between footnotes.

Re: automatic numbering within table
Do you know if Papyrus is still being developed? The most recent version on MacUpdate is from 2007, and their website says that Papyrus is for "for Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger, incl. Intel Macs), and 10.3.x (Panther)" which doesn't inspire confidence. Their website is a mess. They continue dev...

Re: automatic numbering within table
As far as I know that is not possible. We’re in between the fire and the frying pan here: Fire: Mellel has no built-in way to do captions Frying pan: Mellel cannot do auto-titles in tables This can make it really hard to use Mellel properly alongside images – I had to do some ugly manual work around...

Re: Table of Contents
It looks like you have mutliple tabs set in your paragraph style. In addition to those at the very beginning of the line, there should only be one tab (a reverse tab), located at the outer page margin. I guess you will have to delete all those tabs in the middle.jas wrote:Here's what I get. Almost there.

Re: Attaching Screen pictures
Hm, let me check…
I guess the only way to do this is to use the img tag (BBCode). To embed images using the img tag, you would need to upload them to some kind of webserver first, then you can link to the web address of the image…

Re: Table of Contents
Thanks for the thorough explanation – I was looking for any hints in your post to see if the behaviour that rpcameron describes is acknowledged as being a bug. I haven’t found any clues to answer this question, but I would also emphasize that needing to place the tab marker before the page margin is...

Re: Which font Mellel chooses
It looks like the yellow colored fonts installed in the user folder are those that are installed along with MS Office. I would follow Janet's advice here and delete those that exist twice. (I always deleted the MS Office ones in the user folder and kept the Apple ones in the root library and so far ...

Re: Problems with spell checking & language recognition
Since snow leopard supports other dictionary formats I didn’t see the need to install cocoAspell anymore. I just downloaded languages that were not included in the OS X distribution (Norwegian, for example) and imported them to the OS X spell checker. Usually, the Automatic by Language thingy works ...

Problems with spell checking & language recognition
I used to be a pretty happy camper with Snow Leopard’s new “Automatic by Language” spell checking feature. However, for quite some time now this does not really work anymore. Even for a document that is completely in one language (German or English, usually), the spell checking feature does not corr...

Luckily, you don’t have to learn regular expressions to replace styles – there is an extra option for that! You can find it under File > Replace Styles…

Re: Thread answer e-mail notification does not work
Interesting – so far I haven’t received any notifications (the settings seem fine though), but I will keep an eye open and if nothing arrives, try to fiddle around with the settings a bit. (Automatic subscription is activated, this and other threads are subscribed for me, the e-mail address is corre...
