Re: time to move this forum to a more stable platform

Don’t have any suggestions, but there have been several times over the last 2-3 months when the board was down 2-3 days at a time. I wholeheartedly support Janet’s suggestion.

Another positive for Mellel

Today I had to set up three letters, with specialized logo in the header. I thought I would use MS Word, but for some reason, the logo could never appear (only black object). So I opened NWP, and the logo appeared fine, but I had to use table in the header. And unfortunately NWP table options are no...

For a change of pace

This is a post with no complaints. Just a great thumbs up for Mellel. I use Scrivener for many writing projects, and MS Word for grading papers. But Mellel is my favorite word processor by far. If the exchange with MS Word and .rtf formats were better, I would be in Mellel most of the time. I know t...

Re: 3.3.1 does not keep preferences

You can leave it at "old templates" or click the popup menu and choose a different category (or create a new one). If you want Mellel to show you the template in the browser and allow you to make it the default, you must save inside one of the categories. I had tried that both options and neither w...

Re: 3.3.1 does not keep preferences

If I understand correctly you choose "Save as template" and then clicked "Save Elsewhere" to save somewhere. Right? If that's the case then Mellel will not use the template as the default. You need to save within the Mellel folders. The only options to save, are “Old Templates” and the dropdown “Sa...

Re: 3.3.1 does not keep preferences

I tried opening the template several different ways. Typically (I have been using Mellel since 1.2), if I made changes to the default template, and saved, then when I clicked “New” under file, a new document would open with all the just saved changes. That didn’t happen this time. I also opened the ...

Re: 3.3.1 does not keep preferences

Interesting, I changed the default to US Letter and yet when saved as template, it change it back to A4. I tried other things as well as background color. Finally after the 4th attempt Saving as Default template it seems that the changes to the template actually stuck this time. Glad that it is reso...

3.3.1 does not keep preferences

Since updating, when I open a new document the hidden margins and header/footer do not “take”; that is, with every document I have to reinstate those criteria. I have even tried to do that with a file then saved as template, and still those preferences do not stick.

This would be my primary need in the next version.

Word exchange would be a distant second.

Unable to stay logged in

Since the maintenance on this forum, I am no longer able to stay logged in. I’m okay until I close the window, then I have to sign in again. This is the only forum I have a problem.
