Ran a disc check. It's fine.

Re: Mellel Can't Save Document
Well, there is around 90 gig of free space and the document is about 45mb, so I doubt that's it. My CD drive is broken, so I can't really run a disk check.

Mellel Can't Save Document
I'm using Mellel 3.0.1 (build 2) on my iMac (just a few years old) running 10.6.8. I'm editing a book (!) about 400 pages long and now get, fairly frequently, an error from Mellel that the document cannot be saved. I also get, every so often, some kind of graphic breakdown where the text and/or page...

No longer able to change Mellel icon
This is a minor bug fix. After the most recent Mellel update (3.0.1 build 2) I can no longer change the Mellel icon by choosing 'get info' and pasting in my favourite typewriter icon.
Small beer, I know…
Thanks!

Re: lodging a complaint (Mellel too complicated!)
Well, I'll dissent. I think there are a few issues to deal with. First, I don't find Word any simpler (in fact I find it baffling, but that brings me to second point). Second, Mellel is aimed at academics and once you get a few template documents and your own styles in place it makes working so much...

Re: Mellel 3.0 dictionary/language changing on its own
I've tried all of these solutions and it keeps switching from UK to US English.

Mellel 3.0 dictionary/language changing on its own
Loving the new version—fantastic stuff. A slight irritation is that the language pop-up menu on the handsome new palette keeps changing to USA English. Is there a way to stop this?

Re: Space between running header and text
Thanks for that. I checked it all as you suggested, but no change to the problem. I did manage to fix it and that was by changing the font size for the reference symbol to 10-point font, from 12.
Many thanks.

Re: Space between running header and text
Thanks. Changing the font does help, but only certain fonts. For example, changing it to Times didn't effect the issue, but Times New Roman did fix it. However, shouldn't the spacing issue 'work' in all fonts, particularly with such a popular one like Warnock?

Re: Space between running header and text
The font is Warnock Pro, and no, I am not merely 'adding a couple of carriage returns' after a heading. In fact, it makes no difference where within a paragraph the text falls. Any text that comes at the top of a page and has a footnote, gets clipped.

Re: Space between running header and text
Ok, Here is an example where the top of a footnote is clipped. This happens to any footnotes numerals (and some tall caps) at the top of a page.
Thanks for your help.

Re: PDFs are now blank
Solved.
Ok, here is the embarrassing truth. Mellel (OSX?) saved my printing range from another document (something like 158–167) and when I opened a 40–page document it merely generated a single blank page. I'll pay closer attention in future.
Garbage in, garbage out…

Re: 3.0 Wish List
I love Mellel and would become a plumber if I was forced to use MS Word. I'd like to add my name to the request for indexing. Seven years ago (or so?) when I converted to Mellel publishing houses were still doing indexing, but time have changed fast and even some of the big ones (I'm thinking of aca...

PDFs are now blank
For some strange reason I can no longer generate PDFs from Mellel. They all come out blank.
Any ideas?
