Free online PDF annotation (or, We Do Need Those Pg #'s!)
Okay, I found this really sweet and FREE online web program that I need to share, as it actually renders my personal need for Google Docs obsolete. The program is called A.nnotate (http://a.nnotate.com). It is based on this credit system— each page uploaded costs a certain amount of credits. But, yo...

Re: We don't need no stinking page numbers!!!!!!!!!
Am I not correct that it is now not even an option to export to .doc from Mellel? Several items in this thread make it sound like export to RTf and export to DOC are two different things. It is my understanding that exporting to .doc is exactly the same as exporting to RTF except Mellel puts the .do...

Re: We don't need no stinking page numbers!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for not following this thread. i just opened it up and saw my name. My use of Google Docs is pretty basic but effective for me. To get the document into Google Docs: -export as .doc - open in Word - Save in actual .doc format - upload to Google Docs I then get my advisors or partners to read t...

Re: Sharing files with Word users
In BE's preferences, under the Scan & Bib tab. You first choose the delimiters and then the Copy Citation format. choose Author, Date, Unique ID there.

Re: Spotlight and Quick Look
Yet another reason for a Quicklook plugin — DEVONthink wants to use the quicklook feature to display files. I've been wanting DT and Mellel integration for a dog's age. Let's hope a Mellel quicklook plugin is on its way.....

Re: Sharing files with Word users
Ian, what do you have BE's temp citations set to? It sounds like author, date, title. Author, date, unique ID would be shorter to use. I haven't tried the Sente thing, but am interested to hear anyone else as well. I would think, though, that if your collaboration partner added temporary citations (...

Re: Will someone tell me it's going to be OK?
You can probably understand that some users are a little nervous, as Ori's report is essentially the same as that given on January 5th in the forum. The xref version was in advanced alpha then too
Re: Sente?
I can't say I have experience with czech in Sente, though I am a little surprised that it wouldn't handle those. I am impressed with Sente, though it still has some catching up to do with BE. Its importing is limited still, as is its quick importing from LOC. Its method of copying and pasting needs ...

changing level of auto-title—bug?
The last time I remember working extensively with auto-titles, particularly in the outline view, choosing to change the auto-title level with a right-click would change the title appropriately. It is not doing so any more. To be a bit more specific. I have an auto-title called "first-level subh...

Re: chapter numbering problem in auto-titles
Thanks Ori. I guess you can consider this a request then. Part and chapter are standard top-level hierarchies in books, but chapters are always consecutive through a book.

Re: chapter numbering problem in auto-titles
Or, you can set your chapters and parts to sit at the same level of the hierarchy, so they continue numbering concurrently. It may be necessary to use a tag Auto-Title to achieve this for one of your parts. Can you clarify this more for me? How do I get Part and Chapter to sit at the same level? in...

chapter numbering problem in auto-titles
My chapter numbers in my auto-titles are starting over at one whenever I add a "part" auto-title, which sits at the top of the hierarchy. In my auto-titles preferences there is nothing I see that would cause this behavior. Can someone help me with this? sidenote, why would that behavior ev...
