Re: References in Figure Captions
Hello Till,
Thank you for the example. Having a citation in this place makes fully sense.
Take a look at the screenshot. Isn't this exactly what you want?

Re: References in Figure Captions
I think references in figure captions are not so strange in scientific papers. • How would such references look like? You can insert a citation on the same line *after* the figure caption, like this: Figure 1: The Icelandic Band KALEO [12] But not *in* the caption, like this: Figure 1: The Icelandi...

Re: Shortcut to insert note
There are two alternative ways: 1. Use the predefined shortcuts that come with Mellel by going to a) Insert > Note > Edit note attributes… and b) click on the shortcuts to select one from the upcoming list or select "-" to chose none.

Re: Why do people ask questions and then never bother to read the answer(s)?
I think the "Last active" time stamp indicates the time someone contributes something (a post or reply) and does NOT indicate when someone last logged on or read others' posts or replies Thanks for looking into this, A.D. I was actually thinking about this too. But then I checked the &quo...

Re: OpenType help
(1) The glyph variation for this particular font does not appear in “Related Characters,” only the base glyph does. Yes, that's what I had already been saying. Forget about the part called 'Related Characters'. You should scroll down and look in the part called 'Font Variation' . These are two diff...

Re: OpenType help
Hello A.D., Glory be! You have risen from the dead…. :–) Janet's reply does not address the specific problem about which I am asking. That's true. However, you can find the variation you are looking for if you show Emoji & Symbols and enter "g" or "a" into the find field in t...

Re: Feature Request: long document variables wrap to next line
If you think with the participants in that 2007 survey that Mellel needs a document based text expansion feature that respects paragraph attributes and allows expansions to flow over line breaks, by all means ask for one. I don't think analogue_man was asking for a text expansion feature. And since...

Re: OpenType help
I would like to put my two cents in, notwithstanding the fact that the OP seems to have vanished into thin air 2 minutes after (s)he posted and has therefore probably never read the replies by Janet and DavidH… I have learned how to access these alternate forms in Adobe products, but I have not figu...

Re: Why do people ask questions and then never bother to read the answer(s)?
I try to contribute, figuring more traffic is a good thing. Hi Amontillado, Thank you for your response, but I'm not sure what this has to do with my posting, which was about people who ask a question in the forum, then log out and disappear forever (according to the "Last active" time st...

Why do people ask questions and then never bother to read the answer(s)?
I wonder whether other forum members have noticed this. Many people who ask questions here obviously never bother to read the answer(s)? This is something the forum software indicates. Here are two recent examples: A.D. Riddle asks on Fri Aug 06, 2021 1:43 pm whether it is possible to change the def...

Re: Export to .rtf and .docx
Is it just me, or [does] the export from Mellel to MS Word and RTF formats presents difficulties? Don't use RTF. You'll lose all your styles. Currently .docx seems to be the best export option for Mellel to MS Word. I just made a quick test with the IEEE template in Mellel which is rich in formatti...

Re: please... the iPad app is weak
Please - make it as robust as possible. Hi silverlaker, You are posting this at a wrong place. The forum members are just ordinary Mellel users, same as you. To send feature requests or messages directly to the developer, choose either 1) Support… from the Help menu or 2) use the support site https...

Re: Greyed-out band on left side of document
I opened a document and a grey band appeared on the left side of the page. What kind of document are we talking about? From your description it sounds as if you had been working on a certain document and then—suddenly—one day a grey band appeared when you opened it. Does the band appear on all the ...
