Crosses fingers and hopes for a beta very soon. (This is the week of announcements and sneak peeks, isn’t it?) ;)

Hm, so far this hasn’t happened to me (I hope!). However, I am using the old version of Synk (before it was split into three different apps). I would be extremely interested to hear if this is an isolated freak case or if there is some logic behind this…

I know of no other ways than using the bibliography palette…

You can click on the entries in the palette and hold down the Apple key at the same time (it might also be the Alt/Option key, not 100% sure) to jump to a citation in the text.

I suppose you use Bookends?

I would recommend switching to the Apple provided solution for unzipping. How? Get the info dialog for a .zip archive (either via the context menu, the file menu or by hitting Apple+I) and in the "Open with:" section of the info palette switch from StuffIt to the so-called "BOMArchive...

(And I will presume you want to send the document as a .mellel document.) It is a good idea to zip it before sending: Do a control click on the file and choose "Archive blabla" (or something like that). This will produce a .zip archive which can safely be e-mailed, uploaded to a web ...

I think we discussed a similar issue a few weeks ago – I would prefer that a variable in this case would be displayed as empty, i.e. using non-printing text to display that the variable is currently undefined. Perhaps we should post this (or the handling of undefined mentions in general) as a thing ...

Re: Warning! Version and 2.1.2 and Preferences

How does one save preferences? Even more important than making a backupt of Mellel’s .plist file in the ~/Library/Preferences folder is making regular backups of Mellel’s whole Application Support folder (located in ~/Library/Application Support). This is where the Auto-Title Setups and all the oth...

I also use the auto-backup work-around to be able to have a long-range undo function. In my view the deletion of the undo list during a save is close to a bug too (especially when it happens during an auto-save and as such is not transparent to the user). It took me quite a while until I figured thi...

Dougray, NeoOffice (or OpenOffice) can produce pdfs with a TOC as well. I also need this functionality quite urgently since I want to put pdfs of my articles and essays online. (I already have them as html, however, the stupid Google Scholar service only indexes pdfs. Grumble.) I would also think th...

Exactly what is the difference between PD and PDF-X (except the embedded font info as mentioned above)? I am sorry, but it is quite a while ago that I read more about the differences, to read something yourself you can take a look at http://www.globalgraphics.com/products/pdfx/index.html I use PDF...

Sorry, I thought you would refer to the changes you made to your auto-title setup. My mistake. Other than that I can only say that it works for me, i.e. when I set an auto-title setup as default in Mellel’s preferences and open a new document, it is the selected setup. No need to quit and restart fo...
