Re: Crashing

Hello - Thanks for quick response. This worked and I can now launch Mellel but my style sets and auto title info has gone. How can I get this back? Best, Taman The problem here is that is difficult to tell which style set or auto-title caused the problem. Still, Mellel saves the auto-title setup an...

Rebuilding? You mean re-generating?

Re: Crashing

Hello, I seem to have just started having trouble with Mellel. I was using v2.5 last night and all was fine. This morning when I try to open it, it just crashed. I'm using Snow Leopard, but have been using SN for a while now without any problems. I decided that maybe I would upgrade to 2.7. Paid an...

Mellel 2.7.1 is here

You can (and should) download it from here: http://www.mellel.com/download.html

There are lots of bug fixes there, and some interesting improvements, about which you can read here: http://www.mellel.com/releasenotes.html

Re: Track Changes, what will you do?

It seems that the voting points to two things: a) smoothness moving between rounds of changes is essential; and there are many who would use this in a non-co-operative environment (with themselves) if the feature is any good.

Re: Column frustration

Mellel was recommended and bills itself as an ideal program for dissertations in linguistics. Accordingly, I purchased a few months back. However, now that I had my topic unexpectedly change, I'm apparently out of luck. The bulk of my dissertation will be parallel texts for translation, which means...

Re: Track Changes, what would you like to have?

Let me just add my 2c here. Whilst I hate the way track changes is handled in Word/Pages, the MOST important thing for me is that track changes in Mellel would be compatible with Word track changes..... Track changes is the ONLY reason why I still have Word on my computer - all the collaborators ha...

Re: Track Changes, what would you like to have?

This is just *my* need: I don't need the elaborate collaborative features. Basically, I need: get a student paper, write comments/markups, return. If the student uses Mellel, good. If the student can tolerate a pdf with the markups/comments clearly indicated, fine. If the student needs a word/rtf v...

Re: Track Changes, what will you do?

Track changes is considered an essential feature of a word processor by many. But it is not. It is fashionable, but not essential. Personally, I always insert my remarks between double brackets. Works perfectly. Never had any complaint. You're not the only one, Timotheus, which always gave as a bit...

Re: Track Changes, what will you do?

Don't read too much into this poll... Yet. And the poll is missing an option: "I dislike track changes, but my colleagues [on WORD] insist on using it, so I guess I need some sort of an option to appease them." Janet That's more or less what option 3 gives you: "Ignore it. It'll prob...

Track Changes, what would you like to have?

Again, do not read much into this, yet. And do choose only those that are really important to you.

Re: Magnetic palette request

Maybe this is already possible or has been suggested, but it just occurred to me that if the magnetic palettes could stick to each other sideways, then they would take up less space on my laptop screen. Now I can lay them individual one next to each other up on top of the screen, where they take le...
