Open the Mellel Preferences, in the General section near the bottom left is QuickLook. Make sure this is checked and the number shown is reasonable.

Re: Go back button
Mellel has several ways to do this. I devote a chapter to it in my tutorial http://www.redlers.com/download.html#Anchor-Tutorials-47857 which explains the Markers system and I also discuss other methods in the Tutorial. The Edit menu in its Markers section gives keyboard shortcuts for all its functi...

Re: Tab lead
I don't think there is any way to control the distance between dots in a tab lead, in Mellel.
However I suggest you contact Mellel Support to check if there is some way it could be implemented.

Re: Line spacing Units
Dear Jake, The reason for your problem is that Mellel respects the line spacing built into each individual font by the font designer . As I show in graphic detail in my Tutoral the height of a line varies enormously between fonts of purportedly the same point size. Size 11pt has no longer any standa...

Re: Italian hyphenation
Do you have Italian chosen in the hyphenation section of your paragraph setups (either via the paragraph menu or the style set menu)?

Re: No backup files in Application Support/Mellel/Backup
I have had no problem whatever with backup files in Application Support/Mellel/Backup. I frequently use it. Are you sure you are in your User library? (To get to the User Library press the option key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder.) I am also using Lion 10.7.2 and Mellel 2.9.1 build 1. Don ...

Re: 2.9.1 Margins and Line Spacing
Have you checked to see that Preserve document styles is checked in the Mellel preferences? Have you checked with the Layout menu that the default page margins for your various styles may need to be altered. The radically different way in which page margins are set in 2.9 can interfere with settings...

Re: Space between running header and text
I have still had no success in reproducing your problem. I have now had opportunity to try various types of printouts to recheck, and the results have invariably been the same. The only thing that I can suggest is a problem with your printer setup, or even with your printer itself. Have you checked ...

Re: Moving Focus with Keyboard
You can make the outline appear by clicking on the little icon at the bottom left of the Mellel screen. To use the outline, simply click on the outline section. Mellel does not automatically make provision for assigning keyboard shortcuts to everything and anything. You would do best to get yourself...

Re: Space between running header and text
I am not sure how you are making your headers. I find no such problem as you describe, My method is: place your cursor at the top of the page and press the mouse button, and Mellel 2.9 then shows the Insert Element/Insert Mention item. From the Insert Mention part choose what you want to insert. Alt...

Re: How I make a line from one side to other?
The simplest way is to place a reverse tab at the place where you want the line to end.
Then choose Low Line from the Lead button in the Margins & Tabs palette
Place your cursor at the point you want the line to begin, and press the tab button.

Re: Mellel 2.9 is fantastic
As to letterspacing, I point out in my Tutorial how to automate extra (regular+narrow) letterspacing between small caps. I suspect that a similar method could be done for other types of letterspacing too. It involves making a macro via the find/replace system. A similar macro could easily be made wi...
