Re: mellel's default citation format?
First off, which citation manager are you using? Second, Mellel doesn't determine what the temporary citation looks like (besides its color), pre or post scan. That is the job of the bib.manager. If you are using Bookends: It looks like you have chosen a format as the paste style for the temporary c...

Re: Scanning with Bookends yields straight quotes, not curly
That's right. You need to put curly quotes into the format, or in your fields when they have them. The keystroke for curly quotes in BE is alt and alt>shift with the square bracket keys.
I've requested from BE a curly quotes option, you should request it on the BE forum as well.

Re: Making cross references hurt less
Our thoughts here, at this point, are to the following improvements to the procedure: A. Dragging from the outline directly into the document (with Cmd or Option pressed) to create a reference. The reference format will be the one selected in the preference, of course, so you'll only need to change...

Re: Keyboard shortcut for editing citation
After adding the citation (from BE or Sente), hold shift and hit back arrow to highlight the citation, then hit enter. Then hit right arrow and add your cited page (or whatever other editing you are doing). When you are done editing the citation, hit enter, which will take you out of the citation. T...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.6
A small request made on the forum a while back by me and supported by others was better keyboard migration to and from the outline view. Also, what about associating fonts with other scripts? Currently we are only allowed one secondary font? No one mentioned scripting and/or macros— any interest in ...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.6
I reach for sunglasses when I work in Mellel's full screen with the white background. There is an entire section of the Mellel Guide that deals with this issue. It's on pages 38-40 on my copy [I'm not sure I have the most up-to-date version]. Janet Or hit command>alt>control>8 when in full screen m...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.6
Most urgent: 15. Improved image handling (text float around images [and tables] and anchoring of images [and tables] to text) 12. OpenType (large and) small caps, as well as sub- and superscripts 11. Improved style system (the Mellel concept of styles aside, the style system in general could be a b...

After exporting the RTF from Mellel, open the RTF in Word and save it as .doc, then send it to the publisher. See if that works

Re: Revisiting Sparkle
Thought I'd post in this thread to bring it up back to the top and in the spotlight again. Both Mellel's main partners (Sente and Bookends) both update with Sparkle and it is fantastic. I'd really like to see Sparkle updating for Mellel.

Re: mellel beta
Since the beta is no secret, can i ask about what else we can expect? Everyone and their dog knows xrefs are here, but is anything else coming? Although it seems relatively minor, I'm dying for quicklook support. It has easily become one of the most used features of the Mac OS for me, and to not hav...

Re: I don’t like multiple exclamation marks!
Why does Mellel even feature "Word format" export, if it is only RTF with a .DOC extension?! I guess the Redlers (correctly) feared that users would see the "WORD" export missing and assume they could no longer exchange info with WORD users. Exactly, and that's why it should sta...

Free online PDF annotation (or, We Do Need Those Pg #'s!)
Okay, I found this really sweet and FREE online web program that I need to share, as it actually renders my personal need for Google Docs obsolete. The program is called A.nnotate (http://a.nnotate.com). It is based on this credit system— each page uploaded costs a certain amount of credits. But, yo...
