Re: No highlighted word in search bug?
Whenever I do a basic search for a word, when the word is found by Mellel, it is not highlighted on the page. Since I'm searching a long document, I have to read through the whole page showing in order to find the word I've searched. Is this a bug? It's hightlighted in my docs. What background colo...

Re: cross reference "below"
When you double-click on the CR for the bookmark after it has been moved, what kind of text appears in the Edit Reference pane? If you moved you bookmark, instead of seeing the bookmark when you click on the reference, the Preview pane should read "This target is not associated with any part of...

Re: Insert minus sign?
But really, what's wrong with the prosaic plus sign? Yakov, the keyboard offers a limited set of characters. People in the printing industry are very serious about using the correct typographer's sign in the correct situation [like your KAMATZ KATAN]. Take a look at Mellel's Insert/Special Characte...

Re: Citation format
I'm using Bookends. But is this a bib software issue? I'm using Sente and it definitely is a setting in Sente: the way the Mellel document looks after scanning is determined by settings made in Sente. I can have it look as in Plum [1649] or (Plum [1649]) or whatever - but it's Sente's handling enti...

Re: Insert minus sign?
Am I blind, or is there no "insert minus sign" under Insert Special Characters --> Mathematical? This should be Unicode 2212. Yes, I can do it manually with the Unicode keyboard or the Character Palette, but I would have thought that would be an option in Mellel. Thanks! Right, the "...

Do you have a template with that specific style set as default? Copying into such a setting might by a possible explanation?gpolberd wrote:I have no idea why it works. Ori also seemed intrigued that it did. Perhaps it will lead to a solution in future Mellel updates.

Re: Citation format
Hi, I was wondering again how one can achieve the Author (year) intext citation in Mellel. (E.g.: ...as Lenin (1964) argues,....). I think I've read something about this before, but I'm writing here because I need a quick answer, so thanks a lot for any help. g probably depends on what Bib.Manager ...

Re: Borders around text & paragraphs
Greetings, I'm in the process of moving from my old trusted platform (RiscOS) to the Mac. Mellel has a lot of similarities with my current word processor (Techwriter, which was developed from the old MacAuthor). However, I am struggling with some of the basics: I am trying to set a border around so...

Re: Footnotes and *.rtf
Hi all! I'm fairly new to Mellel and am therefore not very keen on the technical side. I have to get a lot of my work done on my laptop, which is a windows-machine. In order to keep a productive work-flow, I have to save my word-docs as *.rtf and import them into Mellel at the end of the day. The p...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.6
Something that is not mentioned : a tutorial "switching from Word to Mellel" à la "The Missing Manual : switching to the Mac". I'd suggest that item on the list should be made by the users of Mellel, not by the makers of Mellel. And Don's tutorial (http://www.redlers.com/downloa...

Re: Mellel 2.5 is here!
Hi this is Shevach again. Could it be that I have OS 10.4.9 and a ppc (or whatever it's called. It's not an Intel processor) I doubt that, honestly. Mellel is compatible with both ppc and previous OS versions. I just tested - no problems copying from TextEdit into Mellel and back for "simple&q...

Re: Mellel 2.5 is here!
Hi there, I just upgraded and something very funny is happening (it's not really funny but agravating). When I copied I couldn't paste to another application! Can someone tell me what setting I have to change. Thanks a lot, Shevach what did you copy and into what application? I have no trouble copy...

Re: syncing to iDisk
I think we as Mellel customers need to be unafraid of giving voice to specific criticisms of the program and allowing others to express their frustrations (rather than saying something like "If you don't like it, leave ! And while you're at it... switch to Windows!! And move to Canada!!!) On o...

Re: syncing to iDisk
The procedure I use for syncing my weekly Mellel files to iDisk is the following one: Preparation: Make a Smart Folder that looks for recently modified Mellel files. I set mine to one week - that's more than enough for me. Save the smart folder (I also put it in my sidebar, but YMMV of course). End ...

Re: syncing to iDisk
I just discovered today that the updates to files on one computer were not being reflected in the files on other computers connected to my iDisk. It also explains why I kept thinking I was losing work. So I've been tampering with more than one file and now I have to go back and reconcile the change...
