Wow, is this the FrameMaker of the future?Ori Redler wrote:
No, I don't suppose so either. We have something much bigger and much more important cooking for 2.6, which is now on the drawing table.
We can certainly hope so!!

I use English as main, but Hebrew, Greek, German, and Latin, so this would be helpful.
Re: Em dash and ellipsis
Just a quick addendum: the ellipsis on a US keyboard with Leopard is alt+: (alt and the colon button), producing "…" but without the quote marks (obviously). Thanks for the post, though; I had no idea that a keyboard shortcut existed for the ellipsis till seeing this and experimenting! Te...

Yes, you need to decompress them. If you down load and double-click the file, it should automatically decompress.

Both NeoOffice and OpenOffice are "free", but they do accept donations.

Mellel 3.0?
Well, okay, I know we are supposed to get 2.5 "soon". But I purchased a new MBP 15" matte screen, and it arrives Wednesday. I just thought it would be good to load the MBP with Mellel 3.0.

I should point out that in my case, there were no cross-references and no footnotes in the book. So that wasn't a problem for me. Thus, the only things that mattered were chapter numbering (and sub-numbering) and caption numbering for photos, which Papyrus handled with ease. Now in the next two year...

Re: Book manuscript: Single File or Separate for Chapters?
About 18 months ago I finished a book, to the point of PDFs sent to the printer (all B&W); he used Windows for his production work. I kept each chapter separate from writing stage through page layout and PDF production, then I joined the PDFs into one file using PDFLab. Worked without a hitch. I...

I think that neither Word 2004 nor 2008 support true RTL formatting. So, I think your only option might be NeoOffice.
