Dear Wisdom,
Why can't I place (or create) an auto-title within a table?
Thanks,
B.

Re: Auto-title within table
I don't think that inserting an auto-title into a table is supported in Mellel. The only solution is to create the auto-title immediately above the table.

Re: Auto-title within table
Thanks for the reply. It's a pity it won't work, because I really want to have two 'figures' next to one another with the corresponding images below each figure. Because of text-flow issues I can't see how else to do this.

You could put your images in a two-column section... needs a lot of fine-tuning to align the images, but it works.

Re: Auto-title within table
The images could also go into a table, but it's the text flow problem that gets me. I think it's the same for columns.

If you put your images in a two column section, you could add a auto-title element below each image. It will look the same (compared to tables) but at least, two auto-titles are possible next to each other. Like singingstranger already said, it’s a process of trial & error but if you really need it, it’s the only solution currently available.
