Does Mellel prompt you to register when you launch it? Does it say that you're running in Demo mode?

All I did was quit Mellel and opened it again and it works great.
Don't know what it was.
Thanks a lot (both for your help and a great program)

You may be interested in a little bit of a shortcut that can help you access menu item through the keyboard quickly (if you have Leopard). In the Keyboard system preferences, under keyboard shortcuts, set alt+space bar as the shortcut for the help menu. Then, whenever you need a menu item (like auto-titles in mellel) hit alt+space, start to type in the menu item name, and then arrow down and hit enter. It works really well.

Pasting to TextEdit seems to be working in OS 10.5.3

Could it be that I have OS 10.4.9 and a ppc (or whatever it's called. It's not an Intel processor)
I doubt that, honestly. Mellel is compatible with both ppc and previous OS versions.

I just tested - no problems copying from TextEdit into Mellel and back for "simple" text" here, nor for complex texts (with autotitles, cross-references [those, of course, don't copy correctly]).

Do you have special characters in your "to-be-copied" text? I assume you're not having the "prevent editing" option on in TextEdit?

OK - didn't see at first problem is already solved. Very well.
