Snow Leopard (10.6) compatibility -- from RedleX
Hi to all,
[I've edited this a bit]
It seems that my post from a few days back was hasty and misleading! I apologise for that.
To start: we will issue in a few days an update to Mellel 2.6 and 2.6.1 that will enable them to run smoothly on Snow Leopard -- the update will be free for all current registered users of those versions.
Second, we'll also solve this problem with Mellel 2.7, our upcoming version (those in the beta programme are already testing a fixed version that should run fine with Snow Leopard).
Again, my apologies for the misleading info earlier.
Ori

Thanks, Ori. Appreciate your honesty and being up front about the problem. And your quick response and remedy.
It seems to confirm the problems I had with Style Sets.

My version of the beta (Version: 2.7.0 build 22) crashes immediately on startup in Snow Leopard. Is there a way to get a more recent version?

Re: Snow Leopard (10.6) compatibility -- from RedleX
Does the update fix problems that might have been generated during the time of using Mellel in Snow Leopard without the fix? Or do we have to do something to avoid getting caught in messed up style sheets after using pre build 23 versions of Mellel 2.7 under Snow Leopard?
Re: Snow Leopard (10.6) compatibility -- from RedleX
Still more direct: How save is it at the moment to use Mellel at all, particularly with long and already very refined styles? Can files get corrupted as well? Anything relating to styles seems unpredictable. I have clean installed snow leopard and the latest version of Mellel. All work on or with styles seems haphazard or simply impossible. For the time being all further work I am doing is with Pages; however, Pages is doing a good job in some ways, but it is not what I want and need. I think it would be extremely important to have further clarification asap.ozean wrote:Does the update fix problems that might have been generated during the time of using Mellel in Snow Leopard without the fix? We recommend not working with Snow Leopard and Mellel 2.6.1 or builds of Mellel 2.7 prior to build 23.
The problem may, under some circumstances cause corruptions in saved files, the fix may not fix these problems. Once we confirm our fix to the problem we will issue an update for Mellel 2.6.1.
We appreciate your understanding and apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks. Helpful communication. Looking forward to a "clean" 2.6.1 and/or 2.7.Eyal Redler wrote:We recommend not working with Snow Leopard and Mellel 2.6.1 or builds of Mellel 2.7 prior to build 23.
