Hi!
Dear Common Wisdom:
How do I turn on line numbering in Mellel?
Thanks!

Re: line numbering
Ouch! Is there absolutely no practical workaround. I absolutely have to have line numbering in my manuscript!rpcameron wrote:At the moment, you cannot, because it does not exist.

Re: line numbering
The closest approximation I can think of is to have each page consist of a 2–cell table. It would be borderless, and one cell would be quite narrow and contain the line numbers, while the other will take up the rest of the page.cterss wrote:Ouch! However, this is not terribly practical, because table cells do not flow onto the next page; you would have to manually paginate your document.
While Mellel is a great program, this situation clearly illustrates several areas—line/paragraph numbering, marginalia (which a proper line/paragraph numbering system would require) and poor table handling—where Mellel could definitely use some improvement.

Yes, it's rare for me to submit a manuscript for publication without the journal requiring line numbering for the peer-reviewers.cterss wrote:Ouch! Is there absolutely no practical workaround. I'm hoping too for this feature in the 2.8 version : ) It's essential for scientific manuscripts.
