I'm working on formatting issues for my dissertation, and I'll have a few questions over the coming days and weeks.

The first is: how do I have footnote numbering start over at #1 after a page break. I've gone into "edit note attributes" but I don't see the option.

Do you want to start footnote numbering anew on each single page (this would sound quite unusual to me) or do you want to restart the numbering for different chapters? If the latter, then you’ll have to use section breaks to achieve this…

Yes, the latter. Then where would the setting be?
