Superscript cut off at top of page

As you can hopefully see in the relatively poor photo and screenshot I've copied above, the tips of my superscripted footnote reference symbols are cut off when they occur at the top of a page. (This happens both when printed and in the Mellel document in Mellel view). Has anyone else had this problem, and is there any solution available aside from creating a new superscripted text style and shifting the baseline down a few points?

Could this be font related? That is, have you tried using a different font for the footnote numbers?

I had a totally unrelated problem with some slanted characters spilling over the margins which I solved by changing fonts.

Indeed, that seems to be the issue. I may go ahead and make that character style anyway — I am awfully fond of Adobe Garamond Pro.

While this problem can be solved with a workaround, shouldn't Mellel be able to properly (and completely) render any font, making whatever adjustments are necessary to solve both the superscript and the italics problems?

As I have also stumbled into this problem now and then I would be delighted if this could be resolved in Mellel. :D

I think this is a bug. Mellel clips the top of the page under certain circumstances. We will look into it.

Also, can you specify the font, size and line/paragraph spacing you're using?

Sure thing. This is with Adobe Garamond Pro, 12pt, 0 in. above paragraph, .083 in. below, double-spaced.

I created a new character style to deal with this temporarily. Shifting the baseline down -1 pt. is all that's needed to eliminate the clipping.

FYI, we fixed this issue and the fix will be available in the next version of Mellel.
