Endnotes and Page Ranges

Post by Shelly Harrison »

Mellel is great in allowing you to create multi-chapter documents where each chapter has its own header, page numbering, and note numbering. What Mellel doesn't seem to let you do—not that I can see at any rate—is to position each chapter's notes at the end of that chapter. When you select an Endnote stream, all the notes pile up at the end of the entire document. If there is a way to position notes as endnotes to each page range, I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how to do it.

I'm afraid that at the moment this is not possible.

Will this be possible any time soon, and if Yes, how soon is soon?

Personally, I've found it best not to rely upon features that are promised, but not implemented. Indexing has been promised for years, but it is still not included.

If per-section/chapter endnotes are needed, either find a workaround (such as separate documents or similar) or change your word processor to one that includes the features you need now. Never expect features that aren't present to be there in the near future ...

Wise words indeed. I'm not in desperate need of real endnotes, but it would be nice to have.
