Feature request: architecture for plugins in Mellel

Post by joseph_anton »

Although I continue to find the combination of Mellel and Bookends far and away the best choice for academic writing, I increasingly find myself needing to export my writing into Word in order to run checks on it using services such as Grammarly, ProWritingAid and PerfectIt (to mention only the English-language services - I am aware that Antidote is much in demand for French). These can all be run as plugins under Word for Windows (although not, strangely, in Word for macOS). It would be a major enhancement to Mellel to be able to run checks such as this on text from within the application.

I just installed the latest version of Antidote and I saw “Mellel” as compatible software:) And indeed, using the “Connectix Agent” in the Menu Bar, I was able to make corrections directly in the text and my formatting was respected. Although this software is mainly known for French correction, it is also very good in English!
