Mellel and the Mac's shortcuts

Hello everyone
Did I miss a parameter, but Mellel does not take into account all my keyboard shortcuts defined in the Mac's system preferences (Preferences - Keyboard - Text).
Or it is "normal" and it is not a functionality which is taken into account by Mellel.
