Hi Janet
Many thanks for the detailed lectures above. I shall print and study them. Being the novice I am, it will take me some time to absorb it all.
In fact most of it is beyond my limited current needs.
One observation, please.
While you solved my major problem of floating pics, I am still back to square one with the issue of two pics side-by-side. I place the pics where I wish while they are in FLOATING mode, but as soon as I lock them up in INLINE - they jump one over the other. I solved that problem by turning the two pics into one unit on my desktop, before dragging the latter onto my document. Successful, but not an elegant solution.
Is there one? What do you suggest?

Simplest way to solve the side-by-side issue is to use a table with one row and two columns.
