FILE/PAGE SETUP -- PRINTING TO AN OFF-LINE PRINTER

Post by jannuss »

Friends,

I need to create a one-[age document -- a large sign -- which will be printed by an off-line printer.

The sign is 50x110cm

I tried to define this size using File/Page setup, but it defaults back to A4 which is the size of my home printer.

Two questions
1. How can I get Mellel to create a document larger than my on-line printer?
2. How do I define non-standard document sizes?

And, for that matter why does Mellel care which printer I have?

Note: no mention of File/Page setup in the Mellel Guide

I just set up a document with pages 1200 inches wide and 2200 inches tall. It seemed to work.

In a new document, use File->Page Setup. It may be helpful to choose "Any Printer" in the printer choice field.

Click in the Paper Size field to choose page geometry. The bottom option, Manage Custom Sizes, will let you define a new page type.

There is a "duplicate" feature in the gear icon below the custom page setups list. That's handy.

Otherwise the plus and minus buttons seem to work.

Does that get you any closer?
