Will Mellel be supporting .odt soon?

Post by macsailor »

Since some days ago Nisus Writer Pro 1.2 supports both opening and saving files in the OpenOffice (.odt) format. When will Mellel do the same? It would be great if these features were implemented as soon as possible. Especially since it's not possible to open rtf files in OpenOffice which are exported from Mellel without loosing the umlauts.

If it was possible to save or export directly in odt. and also possible to open files saved by OpenOffice, we would not have to export it first to rtf and then …

We would certainly try to look into the matter in the near future.

Ori, can you specify what you are going to be looking in to? Are you saying that .odt may become an option for a file type that can be both saved and opened in Mellel?

If this is the case, is .docx also going to be looked in to? This would bring the much requested Word integration to Mellel.

Still waiting for odt support from within Mellel. Will it be implemented or not in the next version of Mellel?

Isn't docx support a higher priority?

In most cases, yes, but it would be great to have both these file formats supported in one way or another.
