Is there a way to indent beyond 29.99 pt?

Post by Amontillado »

I'm trying to develop a style/auto-title set for outlining.

When I try to set the indent or start margin for a paragraph style to more than 29.99 pt, it reverts to 29.99.

Is there a way to set, for example, a 250 point indent (start margin)?

I answered my own question. You can't set start margins inside of existing tab stops.

Once I cleared all the tab stops in the paragraph style I could set the start and indent margins anywhere I wanted.

Thank you for posting this. I was going crazy not understanding why I couldn't set tighter paragraph indents.

I have to admit, I consider this buggy. If the user wants tighter left and right paragraph margins, then the software should explain the problem, not just revert the values to what it considers acceptable. Or, just permit the tighter margins and ignore the tab stops that fall outside these margins...
