On-screen background colour

I recently updated from Mellel 4.2.6 to 4.2.7, and now the on-screen background colour set in the Document Setup dialogue no longer works. That is to say, the background colour remains unchanged in the Document Setup dialogue, but it is not reflected in any documents. I have always had the background colour set to light green, and I find having to work with Mellel's glaring white background quite unpleasant. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Also on 4.2.7 and I have no problem with the background color.

Does your problem occur with new files or with existing ones?
If you try to change the color what happens?

The problem occurs with all files, old and new. And changing the colour makes no difference.

Sounds like a bug and/or conflict with system settings

I've also got the 4.2.7 version of Mellel and no problems at all with the background colour.

At least I now know that it is not a general problem. I wrote to Mellel support some days ago, but have yet to receive a reply.

We've recived some reports regarding this and we're investigating the issue. You should be able to fix this by doing the following
1. Open the page palette
2. Click on the background color color well
3. Click the "Color Sliders" tab
4. Choose "Grayscale slider" in the popup menu
5. Drag the slider all the way to the right

A quick note regarding this. This is issue is caused by a bug in Mellel 4.2.7. We were able to track the issue and fix the bug. The fix will be included in Mellel 4.2.8.
We will not release an official version of 4.2.8 until we complete work on other issues that are planned to be addressed in this release but if you're really bothered by this and would like to access the fix right away you can contact our support and we'll give you a download link.
Note, however, that the effect of this bug are purly cosmetic.
