More colors for "Highlight notes on screen"

Post by Icelander »

Under Insert > Note > Edit Note Attributes… > General Options
there is a "Highlight notes on screen" option. Enabling this option will show the reference marker on screen in pale purple color.

This color is so soft that it's hardly distinguishable on the screen, which is bad when you are doing (footnote and endnote) tests and need to quickly see the markers on the screen.

How many of you who are reading this post would like to have an option to customize the color to something that attracts the user's attention more than the pale purple color? In Nisus you can choose any color you want!

OK then, who is willing to support this feature request?
And if not, please don't hesitate to say why not.

I work with a pale green background, and so I have never found the reference markers to be especially difficult to make out on the screen, but I am happy to support this feature request.

Implementing this is not very difficult. I've added this to the list of features to consider.
I think allowing to set the color for footnote/endnote highlights should be grouped along with other hi-lighting colors like citations, auto-titles, formulas etc. This option should probably also be integrated with the "show hidden" option like the other options for showing auto-titles, citations etc.
