Italics in auto-titles?

This was discussed some many months ago in this Forum or in the Mellel list. It is discussed in my Beginners Tutorial, which might be helpful to you.
Anyway, yes, it is easy to use italics (or bold face, or what have you) in Auto-titles. In the Auto-titles edit pane, each of the format items has provision for choosing the desired paragraph style. If you click a second time on any particular format item, the Character style and Variation parts become actve, and you can choose italics, or bold face, etc. as you wish.
The trick is to include in your Auto-title format separate items, for example: "Figure" and # can be set as italics, the title as Bold face, etc. With some ingenuity you can make a number of alternatives and variations.
But no, it is not possible to sometimes italicize part of an Auto-title and other times not.
