Another Page Style Question

I have a document that has a faint background color on my pages and I can't seem to get rid of it. I want a plain white background. I tried in Styles -> Page Style -> Edit "Class Notes". I also tried the Page Palette with no luck. I can change the color of the background but I can't make it white. BTW I have used Mellel for years and have never had this problem before.
Any Ideas?
