I am not sure how the word count works in Mellel. Does the word count statistic include footnote citations? More specifically is it possible to show the word count excluding any bibliography but including footnotes?
Thanks in advance

Yes.Does the word count statistic include footnote citations?
Yes. Cut the bibliography out. Then, when you're done, paste it in again.is it possible to show the word count excluding any bibliography but including footnotes?
Or
Unscan the document to make the bibliography disappear. Re-scan the document to get the bibliography back.
Or
You could select the bibliography. Mellel will then show the number of characters for the bibliography in brackets. Subtract that number from the global number.
Re: Word Count excluding Bibliography
Thanks. You are correct, it is possible to manually exclude the Bibliography but in Word this is done automatically which is quite neat. I was hoping that Mellel might also offer this functionality but it sounds like it doesn't. But not a show stopper because the workaround is relatively straightforward as you kindly illustrate.
