Citation in Auto-Title

Post by swilcox »

It's probably in the excellent manual but I can't find it. Is it possible to include a Bookends reference in an Auto-Title (I need to add them to certain Figure captions).

I'm afraid you cannot do that. You can't insert a citation object into an auto-title object.
I'm not sure what is the idea here. Can you elaborate on what you're trying to do?

This is for academic and scholarly publications. Often I'm asked to insert a citation when using a figure in a paper that appeared elsewhere. Something like:

Figure 2: Lexical network (from Smith, 1999, p. 10)

My work around is to paste in the formatted citation, but of course it's not dynamic.

What about adding the citation right after the Auto-title? Am I missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything. I'm just brain dead, haha. Of course this is how I should do it.
